# Comment-to-DM automation for AI personas

Phersa’s Comment & DM Automation sends your DM to everyone who comments your keyword on Instagram or a Facebook Page, replies to their comment, and hides comments with words you choose.

## What is comment-to-DM?

Comment-to-DM turns a comment into a private message. An AI influencer post asks viewers to comment a word, and everyone who does gets a DM from the account with what the post promised. Phersa sends that DM for you, on every keyword comment.

1. ### Your video asks for a word

    The caption or the video says: comment LINK and I’ll send it to you.

2. ### A viewer comments it

    They comment LINK, or link, or LINK please, on your Instagram post or Facebook Page post.

3. ### Your DM goes out

    They get your message with the link, code or guide, and a public reply under their comment tells them to check their DMs.

## What Comment & DM Automation does

Each automation pairs your keywords with a DM and an optional public reply.

- ### Comment-to-DM

    Everyone who comments your keyword gets your DM from your own account: a link, a code or a guide.

- ### Auto-reply

    A public reply under their comment, in your words. It is posted right after the DM, and skipped if the DM can’t be sent.

- ### Hide comments

    Comments with words you choose, like “fake” or “scam”, are hidden and never get the DM. Your own comments are never hidden.

- ### Also answer DMs

    Someone who sends you the keyword in a DM instead of a comment gets the same message.

- ### Three ways to match

    Whole word (with small typos for keywords of 4+ letters), Anywhere, even inside other words, or Exact. Capitals never matter.

- ### Skip words

    A comment with a skip word doesn’t get the DM, even when it has your keyword.

- ### Up to 6 versions

    Write up to 6 versions of the DM and of the reply. Each person gets one of them at random.

- ### Send it now or later

    Right away, or after 1, 5 or 15 minutes, or 1 hour.

- ### One automation per post

    Reuse the same keyword on every video with a different DM each time. An “All posts” automation covers every post without its own.

- ### Activity

    Each person, their comment, whether the DM was sent, the reply and when. A failed or skipped DM shows why.

## Set up comment-to-DM in four steps

Connect an account once, then give any post its own automation. Your plan includes 2 accounts, and you can add more.

Each Instagram account and each Facebook Page takes one, so a Page and the Instagram account linked to it take two.

1. ### Connect your account

    Connect an Instagram professional account or a Facebook Page. Keep access to messages switched on: without it no DM can be sent.

2. ### Pick the post

    Run it on every post, or choose one of your newest published posts.

3. ### Set the keywords

    Add the words that trigger the DM and how they match, plus words that skip the DM or hide the comment.

4. ### Write the DM and the reply

    Write the message and, if you want, a public reply. Choose when it goes out, then switch it on.

## Who gets the DM

Instagram and Facebook set the rules for DMs sent in answer to a comment. Phersa follows them.

- Only people who comment your keyword get the DM, plus people who send you the keyword by DM, if you switch that on.
- Meta allows one DM per comment, sent within 7 days of the comment, and more only after the person replies ([Instagram](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-platform/private-replies/), [Facebook](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/discovery/private-replies/)).
- Each automation DMs a person once. If they comment the keyword again, even on another post that automation covers, they don’t get it twice.
- To someone who has never messaged you, the DM arrives as a message request.
- The public reply is posted only after the DM is sent.

## Comment-to-DM questions

### Do I need an Instagram business or creator account?

Yes. Comment-to-DM works on Instagram professional accounts, Business or Creator, and on Facebook Pages. Personal Instagram accounts and personal Facebook profiles can’t be connected. Switching Instagram to a professional account is free, in Instagram’s settings.

### Why didn’t everyone who commented get the DM?

Only comments with your keyword get the DM, and a skip word or hide word stops it. Each automation DMs a person once, so commenting the keyword again, even on another post that automation covers, doesn’t send it twice. Meta allows one DM per comment, within 7 days of it. On Instagram, someone who hasn’t accepted or answered a first automated DM can’t get another. Activity shows the reason for every DM that failed or was skipped.

### Why is there no link button in my Instagram DMs?

Instagram doesn’t deliver buttons to people who don’t follow you, and a failed send still uses up that comment’s one DM. So Instagram DMs are text only: write the link in the message and it is tappable. Facebook Page DMs in Messenger can carry up to 3 link buttons.

### Can I make people follow me before they get the link?

Not as a gate. A follow check needs a button, and Instagram doesn’t deliver buttons to people who don’t follow you, which are exactly the people it would be for, so everyone who comments your keyword gets the DM. Ask for the follow in words instead, as many viral videos do: “make sure you’re following me” in the video or caption, right next to the comment ask. You can say it in the DM too.

### Can I use the same keyword on different posts?

Yes. Each post can have its own automation, so YES can send a different link on every video. An “All posts” automation runs on every post that has no automation of its own. Two “All posts” automations on one account can’t share a keyword, so each comment gets one DM.

### Can I hide comments that contain certain words?

Yes. Add hide words to an automation and comments on its posts that contain one are hidden, whatever the capitals. On Instagram only the person who wrote it and you still see it; on Facebook their friends see it too. Hidden comments never get the DM, and hiding keeps working when your DMs run out.

### How many DMs can I send?

The Phersa plan includes 2 connected accounts and 25,000 DMs per billing period. Public replies and hidden comments don’t count. When the DMs run out, DMs and replies pause until they reset or you add more: 50,000 DMs are $10 once and carry over until you use them.

### Does it like comments?

No. It sends the DM, posts the public reply and hides the comments you choose. Nothing else.

### Can AI reply to my DMs and comments?

Not with AI-written replies. You write the DM and the public reply, up to 6 versions of each, and they go to people who comment your keyword. Turn on “Also answer people who DM the keyword” and someone who sends it by DM gets the same message.

### Will automated DMs look spammy?

They only go to people who asked: everyone who gets one commented your keyword. Each person gets an automation’s DM once, you can write up to 6 versions, and you can delay it by 1 to 60 minutes so it doesn’t arrive the second they comment.

### Is comment-to-DM automation safe for my account?

It sends from your own account through Meta’s official API, via Zernio, and follows Meta’s limits: one DM per comment, sent within 7 days of the comment. What you send is still yours, under Instagram’s and Facebook’s rules.

### Can my AI agent set it up?
