# Instagram Carousel Splitter

Split one wide image into 2 to 20 Instagram carousel slides at 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1080, so the picture runs on from slide to slide as people swipe. Use it for panoramas, timelines and wide shots of your AI persona.

Use one size for every slide in the post. On the profile grid a carousel shows only its first slide, cropped to the grid’s 3:4 tile.

## How seamless carousels work

A seamless carousel is one wide picture cut into slides of equal width. Each slide ends where the next begins, so a swipe looks like one picture sliding along. The tool crops your image to the slide count times the slide width, then cuts it.

- **Keep faces and text off the cuts.** Some people see one slide at a time, and a word split across two slides is hard to read.
- **Lead the eye across.** A line, a path or an object that crosses a cut makes people swipe to see the rest.
- **Make slide 1 work on its own.** The feed shows it first, and your profile grid shows only it.

### What size should a panorama be for an Instagram carousel?

1080 pixels wide for each slide, and 1350 pixels tall for 4:5 slides or 1080 for square ones. Three 4:5 slides need 3240 × 1350. A smaller image works, but the slides are enlarged and may look soft.

### How do I make a seamless carousel on Instagram?
