# Instagram Highlight Cover Maker

Make a matching set of Instagram highlight covers from line icons, letters or emoji on one color, gradient or photo, and see them in the highlight circles before you download. Use it to give a new page, like an AI persona or faceless page, a tidy profile from day one.

## How to use the Instagram Highlight Cover Maker

1. Pick a cover in the row of circles. Choose its icon or type its letters, and give it a name.

2. Set the colors, a gradient or your own image once. Every cover in the set follows.

3. Download one cover or the whole set as 1080 × 1920 PNGs. Set each one as a highlight cover in Instagram.

The circle on your profile is small. One bold icon, or two or three letters, reads better than a photo or a word. The dashed guide in the preview marks the middle area that stays visible if you zoom in a little while you set the cover.

## How to add a cover without posting it

1. Save the covers to your phone.
2. On your profile, press and hold a highlight, then tap **Edit highlight**.
3. Tap **Edit cover**, then the photo icon to pick the cover from your phone instead of a Story.
4. Move and zoom it so the icon sits in the middle of the circle, then tap **Done**.

The cover never shows up as a Story, so nobody sees it posted. A new highlight still needs at least one Story in it. The cover only changes how it looks.

## Highlights to start a page with

- **Shop or Links:** what you sell or recommend, so people who arrive from a post find it.
- **Guide or Free:** the freebie you send by DM, for people who missed the post.
- **Routine or Day:** the recurring series your page is known for.
- **FAQ:** the questions you get in comments, answered once.
- **About:** who the page is and what it posts. An AI persona page can say plainly that the persona is AI.

### What size is an Instagram highlight cover?

1080 × 1920 pixels, the 9:16 size of a Story. Instagram shows the middle of it in the highlight circle, so keep the icon in the center.

### How do I change a highlight cover without posting it to my Story?

Press and hold the highlight on your profile, tap Edit highlight, then Edit cover, and pick the image from your phone’s photos. It never shows as a Story.

### Can I use my own photo as the background?

Yes. Pick Your image, drop a photo, and darken it until the icon stands out. The whole set uses the same photo.

Yes. The icons come from Lucide, which is open source under the ISC License. The covers you make are yours to use.
