How to connect a Kie API key to Phersa

  1. Step 1 Get a Kie API key

    Sign in at kie.ai, open the API key page and copy your key. Kie takes generation costs from your Kie credit balance, so add credits to your Kie account too.

  2. Step 2 Add the key in Phersa

    In Phersa, open Settings, go to API keys and choose Kie. Paste the key and click Save & verify.

  3. Step 3 Let Phersa check it

    Before saving, Phersa tests the key with Kie, and a key Kie rejects is not stored. Saved keys are encrypted, and once connected the Kie panel in Settings shows your credit balance.

  4. Step 4 Generate

    In the app, pick a model that runs on Kie. You see the cost in Kie credits before you generate, such as 8 credits for a 1K Nano Banana 2 image.

MCP server details

  • Provider keys are added in Phersa Settings only. The Phersa MCP server cannot read, add or change them.
  • settings-keys-status shows which providers, including Kie, are connected.
  • jobs-create defaults to dry_run=true and returns a plan without spending. dry_run=false starts a real generation that spends the user's Kie credits.

  • Grok Imagine Video 1.5 runs at 720p or 1080p for 1 to 15 seconds, from 4.5 credits per second at 720p. With 2 or more reference images it runs at 720p.
  • Grok Imagine Image 2.0 on Kie comes in one size (1K) with no quality setting. It costs 4 credits ($0.02) and takes up to 5 reference images with no per-image fee.

Does Phersa charge extra on top of Kie?

No. Generations use credits on your own Kie account at Kie's published price, and Phersa adds no markup. The Phersa plan is a separate $99 per month.

How much does GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst cost on Kie?

On Kie it costs 6 credits ($0.03) at 1K, 10 credits ($0.05) at 2K and 16 credits ($0.08) at 4K. Text to image and an edit are the same price. Kie and fal do not share a size setting, so the two price tables are not a like-for-like comparison.

What happens when my Kie credits run out?

Kie refuses the job, and Phersa shows the error, usually “Out of credits”. Add credits to your Kie account, then generate again.

Is my Kie API key safe in Phersa?

Phersa tests the key with Kie before saving it, stores it encrypted and uses it for generation and your credit balance. AI agents connected over MCP cannot read or change it. Removing the key in Settings deletes it permanently.
