How to connect a SpaceXAI API key to Phersa

  1. Step 1 Get a SpaceXAI API key

    Sign in to the SpaceXAI console, open API keys and create a key. It starts with xai-. SpaceXAI bills generations to your team's credits, so add credits in the console too.

  2. Step 2 Add the key in Phersa

    In Phersa, open Settings, go to API keys and choose SpaceXAI. Paste the key and click Save & verify.

  3. Step 3 Let Phersa check it

    Phersa first checks that the key starts with xai-, then tests it with SpaceXAI. A key SpaceXAI rejects is not stored, and saved keys are encrypted.

  4. Step 4 Generate

    In the app, pick a Grok model that runs on SpaceXAI. You see the cost in dollars before you generate, such as $0.04 for a 1K · Low Grok Imagine Image 2.0 image.

MCP server details

  • Provider keys are added in Phersa Settings only. The Phersa MCP server cannot read, add or change them.
  • settings-keys-status shows which providers, including SpaceXAI, are connected.
  • jobs-create defaults to dry_run=true and returns a plan without spending. dry_run=false starts a real generation that spends the user's SpaceXAI credits.

What is different about SpaceXAI in Phersa

  • SpaceXAI is the new name for xAI, the maker of Grok. In Phersa it runs only the Grok models: Grok Imagine Image 2.0 and Grok Imagine Video 1.5. For Nano Banana 2, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash or GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, connect another provider.
  • SpaceXAI keys start with xai-. Reading the credit balance needs a separate SpaceXAI management key, so Phersa does not show your balance; check it in the SpaceXAI console.
  • Grok Imagine Image 2.0 on SpaceXAI costs $0.04 to $0.08 at 1K or 2K, in Low or Medium quality, plus $0.01 per reference image (up to 3).
  • Grok Imagine Video 1.5 on SpaceXAI costs $0.14 and $0.25 per second at 720p and 1080p, for 1 to 15 second clips, plus $0.01 per reference image (up to 3). With 2 or more reference images it runs at 720p.

No. A SpaceXAI key runs Grok Imagine Image 2.0 and Grok Imagine Video 1.5 only. Nano Banana 2 runs on Agent Platform, Google AI Studio, Kie, fal, Atlas Cloud, WaveSpeedAI and Krea; GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst runs on Kie, fal, Atlas Cloud, WaveSpeedAI and Krea.

How do I connect my SpaceXAI API key to Phersa?

Create a key at console.x.ai/team/default/api-keys. In Phersa, open Settings, go to API keys, choose SpaceXAI and paste it. Phersa checks the key with SpaceXAI before saving it.

Why doesn't Phersa show my SpaceXAI balance?

SpaceXAI only shares the credit balance with a separate management key, not with the API key you add to Phersa. Check your balance in the SpaceXAI console.

What happens when my SpaceXAI credits run out?

SpaceXAI refuses the job, and Phersa usually shows SpaceXAI's own error message under Generation failed. Add credits in the SpaceXAI console, then generate again.

Is my SpaceXAI API key safe in Phersa?

Phersa tests the key with SpaceXAI before saving it, stores it encrypted and uses it only for generation. AI agents connected over MCP cannot read or change it. Removing the key in Settings deletes it permanently.
