Error correction levels

A higher level adds squares, so the same link makes a denser code. Keep the margin at 4 squares: the QR standard asks for a blank border that wide on every side.

What each code type contains

Link: the address itself. The tool adds https:// if you leave it out.
Instagram profile: https://www.instagram.com/username/.
Instagram DM: https://ig.me/m/username, which opens a chat with you in the Instagram app.
Email: a mailto: link with the subject and message filled in.
Wi-Fi: WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;, which most phone cameras offer to join. The tool escapes special characters in the name or password.
Text: the words themselves, shown on the phone that scans the code.

These are static codes. The content sits inside the code, so nothing can expire or be switched off. To change where a code points, make a new one.

Do these QR codes expire, and can I change the link later?

They never expire, and the link can’t be changed. The link sits inside the code itself, with no redirect in between that could be switched off. A new link needs a new code.

Can I use these QR codes for my business?

Yes. There is no watermark and no sign-up, and the code holds only what you typed. Print it on products, packaging, flyers and ads.

Can I put a logo in the middle of a QR code?

Yes. Pick Initials or Logo image. The tool switches to error correction H, which still scans with about 30% of the code covered. Test it on a few phones before you print.

Is PNG or SVG better for a QR code?

PNG for screens, posts and slides. SVG for print: it stays sharp at any size, and printers and design apps open it.
